Hi
I trying to find any headstones for the Annett family of Cargans, Tandragee District. The family were Presbyterian. The names I have are Thomas and Sarah (nee Hake) Annett. Any surname of Annett for this area would be appreciated and hopefully will be another piece in the puzzle.
-
HI
I also have an Annett family in Ireland - Thomas Annett - birth 1810 death 1870
Cemetery at Cargans, Tandragee - Presbyterian and his daughter Sarah born 1850 and died 1863 at same cemetery. I have his wife Sarah as Hake but have been told it should be Geddis?? Thomas had a son William born 1839 who came to New Zealand. If this sounds like your family history too - have photograph of the Church and Headstones.
-
Yes, it is William I have been tracking. Interesting about the Hake name. There were Hake's in Cargans as well. I would be interested in seeing the photos.
-
How do I contact you be email??? and do you know when and where Sarah Annett wife of Thomas died and was buried??
Thanks Sue

Are you possibly connected to Ken Annett of Wellington/Christchurch? In recent years we have put together some information on the Annetts of Cargans - married into the Redpaths.

Hi Ken
I am researching for a friend in Christchurch who asked me to look into his family tree for him. The Annett's in Cargan - Thomas and Sarah - produced a son William who came to NZ and married Harriett Anne Prior. Children of this marriage are - David, Charles, Mary, Albert, Harriet, and Gertrude. Gertrude's line is the one I have been following. Any relation?
-
Yes we appear to be on the right lines William Annett (I have a photo of him) was my Great Grand Mothers brother Thomas & Sarah Annett (nee Geddis) parents
If you provide me with your e mail address I have information
Regards
Ken

Hi Ken
I also have a great interest in the Cargans Annett family - similar branch to Rose - William came to Hinds and my husband's grandfather is his 6th son Charles Annett who was born on the farm in Hinds. Would love a copy of the photo and any further information you have.
Cheers Sue

Hi Ken
I need to have more discussion with you x 3. Do you know if the correct name for Sarah is Geddis/Geddes or Haake? There seem to be different maiden names for Thomas's Wife and do you know where she was buried... Have Thomas and his daughter's burail but not Thomas's wife.

I'm researching the Heak (Hake) family of Cargans. Archibald Heak (1811-1892) is of particular interest. Anyone know much about this group?
-
PRONI website has details of Will "The Will of Archibald Heak late of Cargans County Armagh Farmer who died 6 February 1892 at same place was proved at Armagh by Thomas Heak of Cargans and Thomas Harvey of Loughans both said County Farmers the Executors." Also, other ones for this surname in that townland. See www.proni.gov.uk.

Hi,
In 1866 an Archibald Heak married Isabella Adair in Ballymore Church of Ireland, Newry District.
