Hi There,
I'm trying to find the whereabouts of my Flanagan ancestors, i know they moved around a bit from Waterford then Belfast, then Belfast back to Waterford.
On the Belfast Street Directory in 1899, my 2xgrandmother Mrs Flannagan, and her occupation is Spirit/Grocer.
On the Waterford Street Directory in 1894, possible 2xgrandmother Mrs Flanagan, and her occupation is provisions.
Please can anyone help me on this occupation: provisions, is it anything like spirit/grocer.
Any answers are welcome.
Kind Regards
Gary

'Provisions' is another way of saying 'groceries'. Grocers are sometimes described as 'provision dealer'.
