Marriage registrations usually just give age as 'full age' and mothers aren't listed. Without a bride's name it would be difficult to know which marriage might be the correct one.

You can search the online civil registration index (free) at www.familysearch.org.

John Patterson son of William married a Jane McKee McKeswick in Drumbo 1.4.1854

How can you be sure the marriage found was the correct one? Even is father is named William and date seems logical you could be following up the wrong people.

That is a big problem, I have already spent many hours on the totally wrong John Patterson thinking he had moved to Tyrone when he hadnīt. There were a lot of John Pattersons around at that time so will have to investigate further, as it may not be him.
