Hi,
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I have a number of people on my family tree who I believe may be buried at Temora and ? surrounding cemeteries.
I have searched for days and can find no index on-line -everything refers to the Riverina CD. I am in the UK and $90 plus overseas postage seems a bit steep if they are not listed.
Does anyone know if the CD is the only way to find information.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi Laytown, I dont know of any particular Index for Temora but maybe if you posted some info some kind rootschatters may find any if available.
There are referances to cemeteries online at resorce section at top of Australia board, have you used these?

Hi Neil,
Yes I've tried the indexes & also the various sites that offer gravestone photographs but everything leads to the CD.
For several years I have taken photographs of Welsh cemeteries for an AU site as well as individual requests and to be honest this is the first time I've had no success in finding info.
I could list the various names of the people who died in Temora but it's just guesswork that they are in the actual cemetery.

Hi Laytown
There are two cemeteries in Temora: Old Cemetery Austral St and Temora
Lawn Cemetery Thom St. Possibly your best course of action would be to
contact the Temora Family History Group, they would be better placed to advise
re records. The contact is Neil Martin email: temorafamilyhistory@bigpond.com
Good Luck

I live out that way and will be passing through there on the 17th.
West Wyalong library holds the cemetery records for WW, so Temora library may do the same.
Could you list the names of those you are looking for?

I don't understand what pleasure people get from destroying headstones.

The CD to which you refer only has monumental inscriptions for Temora Cemetery. Unfortunately I don't have the latest version which includes Temora cemetery, however it may be worth posting your names of interest in case they are buried in other cemeteries in the region.

Many thanks for all your help and suggestions. Someone has kindly checked the CD today although the deaths were registered in Temora they are not buried there.
I'll go back and have another look at the various cemetery sites.

I understand that another chatter checked Version 2 for you and as I mentioned previously, Temora Cemetery is not included so naturally they wouldn't be listed.
I suggest you use the links here for Temora cemetery records which includes the library as mentioned by Beth.
