Title: Maria Binnersley nee ?
Post by: robsdad on Thursday 02 August 12 15:51 BST (UK)
Hi all,
Can anyone help me with the maiden name of Maria 'wife' of William Binnersley who appears with him on 1841 and 1851 in the Shifnal area.
According to various census b.  c.1806 in Sherrifhales maybe.
After William's death she married Henry Pugh a tailor Q1 1855 in Shifnal and appears with him on 1861 & 1871.
Any help with her details greatly appreciated.
regards,
robsdad

Hi there,

I am just looking at the census and there appears to have been two Williams in Shifnal at the same time.

What children did your William and Maria have so I can see which one is your's ?

Tara

Hi robsdad,

I am sure you know that if all else fails, a child's birth certificate would give you her name.

Hi Tara
1841 gives Harriet, George, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth who I believe is ours and married Daniel Evans in 1855 in Shifnal, and Thomas

Hello, I do realise that you posted this request for Maria Binnersley wife of William Binnersley a RATHER long time ago.  Perhaps you have already discovered their marriage if not:  William BRINSLEY married Maria CHETTER on 3rd February 1823 at Sheriffhales and Woodcote in the County of Stafford and Salop.  You can see the actual Marriage Registration in Findmypast records.
For some unknown reason, William and Maria Binnersley also raised Joseph Binnersley's 3 children - Harriet Born Mar 1828, George Born May 1831 and Sarah born Sep 1833. GEORGE Binnersley is my 2nd great grandfather.  I'm not even sure if you will receive this reply, but I did try.  Cheers from Helen in Victoria, Australia.

Hi Helen,
Many thanks for the information regarding the above.
As you say it's been a long time since I enquired about Maria and for the life of me I cannot at the moment remember what it was in connection with.
I imagine it was re. my wife's family but I will refer to my notes in due course ( another senior moment ).
Best regards to you and yours in Oz.
