Title: Robert WOOLLETT
Post by: Motueka Margaret on Tuesday 30 October 12 08:45 GMT (UK)
Seeking the Parish record of the Marriage of Robert WOOLLETT born 1785 Benton to Elizabeth ?
Their first child Ann WOOLLETT  BP 30.05.1813 Alnwick is my Husband's Great Grandmother.
Also if there are parish records for Robert's parents would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards, Margaret.

Are these the Woollett's that were living in Thornley and Kelloe in Co. Durham after 1841?

Ann was born in 1812 baptised in 1813? And you are sure she was the first born?  Or the first you could find?  By the way those children were baptised in Embleton.  They specifically lived in Newton I believe - most likely Newton-by-the Sea.  There was a burial of a 2 yr old Stephen Woolett 14 Dec 1819

Is this the Robert Woollett that died 1859, of Murton Colliery, that was buried in Dalton le Dale St. Andrew? and Elizabeth that died 1850 and buried the same?

The name Robert Woollett appears list of the marriages listed by George Lamb for Lamberton Toll marriages.  He appears on page 21.  There is no index to the bride but the Elizabeth's that appear on the same page were:  Elizabeth Brown, Elizabeth Bruce, Elizabeth Chirnside, and  Elizabeth Tinmouth  These were from 1804-1816

Hi Janis,
Many thanks for your reply. Yes, it is the same family and Ann is the first baptism I have found for this couple.  I got my info on  the parish Alnwick from Ancestry but looking up Family Search I see it is Embleton for the Baptism.  On my charts I have Robert and Elizabeth's marriage 1811 New Castle All Saints  Parish Church - not sure where this info came from?  Ann Woollett married 6.7.1834 Newport Upon Tyne to William Hall. Are you related to the Woollett Family?
The other children - Robert married Barbara Hall, James  B 1815 D 1888 Stockton, Thomas 1820 Married Mary Ann Willis, Charles 1822 M1 Ann Nichols, M2 Margaret Ellington, William 1825 M Hannah Stevenson, Sarah Ann 1828.  Do you know if this info is right?  regards, Margaret, New Zealand.

If that marriage is in NUT All Saints then you should know her maiden name.  I believe marriages from that period are on the IGI.  I cannot replicate it. I doubt the All Saints info.  You could look page by page on the BT's. and see if there is some unusual spelling--Whillet etc.

My great grandfather was robert woollett s brother. They were born in Embleton Northumberland and moved to Murton in Durham. Also loved in Dalton le Dale. All the family tree is on wikitree, done by Dennis Young, another descendant of the Woollett family.

Hi Maureen,
Thank you for this information. I have looked up the Woollett FT on Wikitree and I have the 8 children of Robert and Elizabeth (nee Tynmouth) on my charts and have researched the families. Who is your ancestor line ?  Kind Regards, Margaret.
