Hi I am looking for any information on Henry bruckshaw who married Hannah fox 1871 Manchester he was a matchstick factory worker and was age 19 at marriage living Newton heath his father was also Henry and was a collier .any help looking for the father of Henry and the mum would be lovely as id like to know the mothers name and possible who henrys jnr grandparents were or siblings .the Henry bruckshaw jnr was researched on the tv program who do U think you are series for bill oddie who is my nannys nephew .but unfortunately they didn't continue to henrys parents and did bills father s side more .but they did discover that Henry died in the fire Pitt leaving Hannah a widow :(e

There are more Higginbothams on familysearch but they seem to be christened at Denton, Christ Church so might not be the same family.

i have also just found a birth for rebbeca lees in st lawrence denton 23 sep 1789 her father was called benjamin lees,so i think this probley is hannahs mother who married john higgenbotham in 1807 especially if the rebbeca higgenbotham whose living in newton in 1861 census age 72 born denton is the same lady

such big age gaps between siblings in the olden days 17 years difference between Hannah and Eliza Hannah is old enough to be elizas mum unless perhaps she secretly is maybey that's why as U pointed out keyboard that no father mentioned for Eliza

;D ;D Now go back through your thread and find Jane Brookshaw b 1838 in 1841/51 and start making a mini tree of the family on paper, it will stop both you and all that have enjoyed the journey with these 2 families a lot of stress in working out just who is who!

Yeah I just wondered because ive seen some people on here get as far as the 1600 hundreds ,i wonder how they do it must be amazing to get 300 years worth of family history .my partner is always saying why am i wasting my time unraveling the past but i find it quite exciting finding new people and were they were living and what they were doing and if it wasn't for them i wouldn't be here now :)

ive just put henrys father as unknown for now as we dont know and im not sure which one is the correct parents for milli heather found two births for a millicent bruckshaw one in 1879 parents henry and mary and another in 91 with a father called george no mum mentioned .and as regards to rebbeca lees ive just put benjamin lees down as father i think its correct because its denton st lawrance and the correct birth year just a shame the mother is not mentioned ,

The carters could be related to the moore family .hannah bruckshaws uncle was John moore who had lots of kids .i found a marriage between a mary Ellen Moore and a carter in 1903 perhaps mary Ellen is related to John moore somewere down the line which would make her a relative of Hannah so maybey that's why Hannah is hurried with some carter family members perhaps ,I could be wrong
