Title: 1841 census Isle of Man
Post by: snowwhite77 on Sunday 05 June 05 20:05 BST (UK)
I am looking for the following family

James MOORE
Ann MORE (wife)
James MOORE (son) born 1816
Thomas (son) born 1820
Margaret (daug) born 1822
John (son) born 1835

The son James MOORE was married in Liverpool, 1841 so i assume that is where he was living at time of census (although marriage took place November).
I would like to know if the rest of the family remained in Isle of Man or if they all moved to Liverpool.

Many thanks in advance
Amanda

Hi
Try www.isle-of-man.com, under Manx Genealogy,  Lookup Exchange.  There is a volunteer for 1841 Isle of Man Census Lookup.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have tried there already, but didn't get anywhere. Will perhaps try again.

Many thanks

Amanda,
I forgot to mention that I'm researching the Moore name in Isle of Man as my gr gr grandmother was a Moore - Catherine Moore born approx 1850 in Malew, IOM married to Thomas Corlett.  Catherine's father was Robert Moore born approx 1826/27 Malew, IOM.  Any connection?

Instead of the lookup exchange, try the genealogy message board  - lots of people ask for/do lookups there.

Janette:

Really don't know if there is a connection at the moment.
I haven't come across a Robert Moore yet.

Rcorris:
Thannks for your suggestion too. I will try posting there. Thanks again
