Title: Can someone help decipher this please?
Post by: Grothenwell on Saturday 16 March 13 16:33 GMT (UK)
Hi, sorry I can't post the actual passage needing deciphering but it is in the website: http://mprobb.wordpress.com/ (http://mprobb.wordpress.com/)
under the chapter called "The Maunsers of Hightown"

Thank you

I take it to read "youth" - son of my youth. Possibly acknowledging a bastard child by a bequest. Not uncommon at that time when illegitimacy was common and not even a bar to high office.
