Arabella Bloodworth appears on the 1841 census along with my 5x great grandparents Francis and Martha their children plus a man called John Soon.
She was born about 1826 in Cottesmore, Rutland, UK.
I have looked on various other websites to discover more about her but there seems to a lack of information ??? Can't find her on any other census or her christening, any marriage or her death.
She is one of my loose ends that I am trying to tie in with another Bloodworth line I have.
Any ideas on how I can find out more about Arabella please?
Thanks.

Basely Scott, Thomas Head M 46 MRCS <?> General Practioner b Norwich

Bloodworth, Arabella Servant F 29 House Servant b Pickworth, Rutland
+ Manservant & Nurse Maid
Don't forget that, on the 1841 census, ages were rounded down to a multiple of 5 years! ::)
Various online trees on Ancestry have this marriage:
June qtr 1854
Oakham district vol 7a, page 433/435
Bloodworth, Arabella
Berridge, Solomon
And her death in Oklahoma, USA.
She and Solomon are on the US 1880 and 1890 census?

Thanks for that :)

I wonder why her birthplace is down as Pickworth rather than Cottesmore?
Just done a quick search and found that they are only about 6 miles apart.

In 1841 she is the only Bloodworth listed in that household.
-
So she married Soloman Berridge and went to the USA?
Interesting, thanks :)
I'll try and get their marriage certificate.
-
I'll look at the US census too, thanks.

Come across a forum post asking about Solomon Berridge.
The post says that he and Arabella were from England. They went to Australia where they had a son in 1860 and then back to McAllen, Texas, USA.
The post is from 2001 so the e-mail address may not work anymore.
I'll try it anyway.

No idea if this is the same family Mary Bloodworth b Pickworth, Rutland 1816( maybe bap in Great Castleton Francis/Ann) married Edward Buckle 1845 had several 'oddly' (for the UK) named children and migrated to the USA, Edward b in Exton and died in Clark, Ilanois 1892, they lived ( from the childrens bap & census) in Greetham and Langham and then back to Greetham in the 1871 before migrating to USA 1873

LRFHS Transcript for Pickworth post 1813 baptisms are from the Bishops Transcripts, so I would imagine that the originals may still be worth the church. No Bloodworths showing in either Pickworth or Great Casterton.
I've a sideline with a William Bloodworth born c1824 in Pickworth (he married Eliza Richardson at Stamford Register Office in 1853) who is listed on various trees as being the son of Francis and Ann Bloodworth of Pickworth. Don't know much else about him as my interest is down through Eliza Richardson's mother Mary Crofts. :-\

I have a few Buckle names in my family tree programme that are also loose ends.
I will try and tie them in with the information you have given me, thanks.

Thanks you for that information. Mary in the 1871 says she is from Pickworth, Rutlandshire ( b approx 1816) haven't really looked for her parents/records, she is not an ancestor, more of an interest in working out who married who. The Rutland families all entwine like a maze and was interested as many of their 'brother or sister' in laws migrated to far flung places, they to the USA other siblings to Australia, my lot remained in the village in Rutland
