Post by: Ad van Zantvoort on Tuesday 19 May 15 10:06 BST (UK)
Hello,

At this moment I researching a crew of an 102 Squadron Halifax bomber shotdown 2 February 1943 over Luijksgestel in the Netherlands. Among them 23 year old Flight Engineer Glyndwr Guerrier, who was the son of Ebenezer and Blodwin Guerrier, and Husband of G.E.Muriel Guerrier of Croydon, Surrey. I haven't not much luck to track down his family so hopefully the proffesional people on this forum can??  I know the rules to get in touch with people till alive but if you have additional info please send me a PM.

Thank you very much for your attention,
Adrian

I can't see any children born to this marriage?

I was about to post the same, KG. Doesn't look as if there were any children, and at the moment I can't see a remarriage or death for his wife. So any living relatives will come from siblings.

A sister was born in 1923 and married in 1943. She died in Holland in 2012. There is only one child born in Wales shown from this marriage on Freebmd, but judging by the surname, her husband could have been Dutch, so there may be more children born in Holland after the war.

Hi,

Glyndwr Guerrier was my uncle. I am his late sister Eliuned's eldest son. I was born in Wales. I have visited his grave in Woensel, the Netherlands. Uncle Glyn's brother Andre is still alive and lives in the UK.

What info are you looking for?

Cheers,

Peter

My name is Andre Guerrier and I am the younger brother of Glyn.
Very much the younger brother because he enlisted in the RAF when I was one-year old.
There is a small gap in the link to hs wife Muriel. She remarried Arthur Hailstone.
If there isnything further I will try to help.

This chap married my Aunt’s Uncle’s sister, whatever that translates as. Was struggling to find her parents, until finding she had been married before. Now interested in Glyndwrs and 102 Squadron.

Have seen that he was involved in a crash with a Lancaster that killed both crews. Interested as to what he had done from enlisting in 1935, as 102 Squadron was bush pretty much from Day 1 of WW2?

Indeed he was involved in a plane crash not in a Lancaster but a Halifax.  Over Eindhoven in Holland a 44 sqdn lancaster and a 102 Sqdn Halifax collided during an evasive action and both crashed near Luijksgestel close to the Dutch/Belgian border which killed both the entire crews. Send me a PM and  I will tell you more and also i can put you in touch with the relatives of Glyndwr most and not forget
due to the help of the members of Rootschat.

Cheers,
Adrian

My son is the great grandson of Glyn this came about from a relationship he had with Marjorie Whittaker in York whilst serving in the RAF nearby resulting in a son born in June 1943 also called Glyn who lives in York and has 2 children Simon and Joanne, Simon is my son's father but we are no longer in a relationship but still in touch with the family, Marjorie had no idea Glyndrw was married until we started researching, she is no longer with us but I  would be interested in any information or pictures of Glyn to give to my son Ben who is now 21 many thanks

Hello,

I'm a son of the late sister of Glyndwr Guerrier, Eiluned, she was married with my father, Martinus Duijzer. Together they had 16 children, I'm number eight.

I'm very interested about any story of my uncle Glyndwr.
I like to be in tough with any one who can give me some more information.

Kind regards,
André Duijzer

Sue has not been online here since 2019, maybe she isn't getting notifications now because she hasn't opened the others.

Did you reply off board to wjaduijzer who posted last year?

Hello Dawn,

Yes that could be that Sue isn't get notifications because she hasn't opened the others. It's make me sad because the Guerrier families I am in touch with(through the help of the Rootschat members) have told me if it's possible to put them in touch with Sue. Also this question came from a familymember of Duijzer(who 's living just a 15 miles from where I live). Yes I replied to wjaduijzer and he put me in touch with the other members of his family. Is it possible to obtain Sue's email address off board??  Cheers Adrian
