I am confused. Other families tracing descent from Samuel Hughes refer to his marriage to Ann Beavan in 14 Mar.,1808. My ancestor, Robert Hughes, was born to Samuel in 1790 in Hawarden.
Was there a prior marriage for Samuel? Please help.

Hi, as I do not know if Samuel was a Widower at his possible 1st/ 2nd marriage, this is the one for 1808:-
Samuel Hughes Batchelor occ Farmer of Hope Owen Hannah Beavan of this parish by Licence Hawarden

Thank you, keyboard!

Perhaps there is a marriage for him around 1789-90 as my ancestor, his son, Robert was born then.
-
Can't see an Hawarden marriage but there's a marriage in Nannerch for -
Sam Hughes of this Parish, widower, son of Hugh and Mary Hughes, age 33 and Ann Edwards of this Parish, widow, daughter of Edward and Jane Jones age 38
(note - so unusual to see some of this info on a Parish cert)
Is this the 1790 baptism
Robert S(on) of Samuel and Ann Hughes, township Ewloe?
-
There is a 1789 marriage, Hawarden, but this Samuel Hughes married a Sarah

Yes, I think you have pieced it together for me. The names all are right. What is the date for the Nannerch wedding? And thank you for all your help!
-
And what is the baptism date in 1790?
-
How come I missed out posting such key info - still reeling from the extra info on the marriage record possibly!
The Nannerch marriage is 9 Jun 1788
The baptism is 9 May 1790

Yes, I like those little surprises. Makes this hobby enjoyable. Thank you again!
