Hello,
Please would someone be kind enough to help me find the names of people in the Drogheda workhouse on the 1911 census. I would like to browse the names, but am not sure of the path.

There are several workhouses in the county, it difficult to figure out which is which.
I think this one is in Drogheda town but could be wrong.

It appears to be the correct townland and parish, looking at the OSI mapviewer.

I am looking for William Farrell who was born in approx 1846, so would have been about 65 in 1911. I have been unable to find him on the 1911 census.
I have no proof he was in the workhouse in 1911. I have however found a death certificate for someone of that name in the workhouse in 1921, district of St Peter's 3. I cannot be sure the death certificate is the right one because the informant is not a family member.
I was hoping that I could solve both mysteries by tying the two together.

What was his wife's ( Julia by any chance) and or children's names?

Work houses also functioned as hospitals so the William who died there may have been there for that reason, having said there is a WF age 67 in the workhouse linked above.

Yes, his wife was Julia.
I found the WF you mention in 1911, and the age is quite possible, but with so little information it is difficult to match the two.

The enumerators note is intriguing.
The fact he asked where William was and thought it worth making a note of.
Raises a lot of questions, did she know and was unwillingto say, why didn't she lie, had he left the area?
The Prison and Petty Court Sessions might be worth a look.

Yes, the note makes it more mysterious.
I looked at the petty court sessions, and between 1907 and 1909 a William Farrell was fined four times for being drunk on a public street.Then there is a threat of eviction in 1914.There is nothing to explain an absence in 1911.
In addition, his son had the same name and address, and I cannot be sure from the petty sessions records which of them this was.
