Hi
I am trying to find out what happened to Salley Holloway, born in 1839, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Holloway of Stretton Upon Dunsmore. I can see her with her family until 1851 although cannot find her thereafter.
Whilst there is a potential marriage in 1882 to a James Blount in the Solihull district I am not sure if this is connected.
Can anybody please help?
Thanks in advance.

Freebmd birth reg is Sarah - Sally is a corruption of Sarah. That's if I have the right birth entry.
Quite a lot of Sarah Holloway marriages on freebmd in the 1850's onwards

Thanks for your reply.
I can see the GRO reference as Salley Holloway, SEPT 1839 Rugby vol 16 page 412.
She is Salley until at least 1851 and then I cannot spot her.
Perhaps Sarah is however an option.

Got it. The 1882 marriage is the only possibility given the spelling. Have you checked the 1891 census for Blount to compare her details?

Freebmd death in 1887 for a Sally Blount aged 33

yes
But I couldn't spot her under that surname so wasn't sure if that was right.
The death age seems a little out to be my Salley too as she would have been 42 in 1881.
Where to next!

Where to next!
No other Salley/Sally born 1853-1854 which could account for that 1887 death. In 1887 your Salley would have been 48
1851 birth for a Sally Holloway
Copy of the 1882 marriage cert perhaps - confirmation (or not) that it was her??

Forget that marriage and death. 1881 has a Sally Holloway b 1854 Dudley working as a servant in Kings Norton

Thanks for looking and for (sadly) discounting that marriage.
I wonder what happened to my Salley from Stretton then!
