Hi There,
Please can someone help me and lookup the 1871 Census in Shropshire, i'm trying to find Edward Medlicott, this is him on the other censuses, i also don't know who his parents are.
1911 Census, Edward Medlicott b.c1853 58yrs, Church Stretton, occ: Railway Worker
1901 Census, Edward Medlicott b.c1853 48yrs, All Stretton, occ: Railway Worker
1891 Census, Edward Medlicott b.c1855 36yrs, Church Stretton, occ: Railway Worker
1881 Census, Edward Medlicott b.c1853 28yrs, Allstretton, occ: Railway Worker
1871 Census, ?
1861 Census, Edwd Medlicott b.c1858 3yrs, Church Stretton, (PAUPER In Union Workhouse).
1911,1901,1891,1881 and 1861 - Edward's residences in Shropshire.

I don't think Edward Medlicott you found in 1861 in the workhouse is the same Edward as in later census
1861 there is a Robert Medlicott age 9 b Church Stretton in the workhouse with Edward - Edward's age has been transcribed as 3 yrs but on image it reads (to me) 13yrs
Both Edward & Robert can be found in 1851 with parents Thomas & Margaret???

suz it looks like the 1871 Census for my Edward must be missing or the family wasn't at home on the night of the census.

I agree with Suz that the 1861 age for Edward is 13. There is a baptism at Church Stretton for Edward s/o Thomas & Margaret Medlicott of Minton, Salop on 28 June 1848 which would tie in with this age in 1861.
In 1871 in Tenbury Foreign, Worcs I found: Piece 3039 Folio 117 page 24

Edward Medlicott lodger 22 single Railway porter b. Minton, Salop
Possibly worth considering in view of his career on the railway and did he knock a few years off his age because Alma Jane was younger than he was?
