As with your other threads, you need to give us an idea of dates to make it easier to help you.
You can search www.familysearch.org for the Irish civil registration index (goes up to 1958). I found several children called Mills with mother Devany (not Evany) but as the dates (1930s) are fairly recent they might still be living (remember that we aren't allowed to post details of living/possibly living people).

Hi, my grandparents were Joseph and Elizabeth mills of 23 o'molloy street, tullamore. My mother Susan says her mother Elizabeth's maiden name was devaney and didn't have any brothers or sisters, Her father Joseph had 4 sisters Margaret,Mary Anne,Francis & a younger sister called Susan,
Their father and mother were Martin and Esther mills and lived at number 1 bridge lane, tullamore according to the 1911 census.
Martin was a tin Smith and my mother says her father Joseph also became a tin Smith in tullamore.
1911 census can be seen here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/King_s_Co_/Tullamore_Urban/Bridge_Lane/561290/

Elizabeths maiden name was devery not devaney as just noticed this on my mother's birth certificate and Joseph was a mechanic not tin smith

I may be related to you! I have been doing some research on my fathers family. My father was Robert Mills he was born in 1923 to Robert Mills and Mary Mills ( Nee Brophy) Robert and Mary married in 1922. My fathers birth certificate shows them as living at O'Molloy Street. Let me know if you think we are related.
Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I wonder if we are related? I have found my dads birth certificate but it only says O'Molloy Street -no number.
I was very interested in the apache Indian connection. My dad was very dark and people often thought he was Asian/Spanish/Italian. Maybe he is related to them?
I need to do some more research to see if I can find any connection. Let me know if you have any more details , thanks

16 years married in 1911 so that gets you a year for marriage so you can then get back another generation.....

Hi.I will be going up to my mother's today to see her in tullamore and probably will be passing 23 omolloy street. She is Joe and Elizabeth's daughter so I can ask her some questions..Joe and Elizabeth's remaining children are my mother , two sisters , and a brother... my mother is 72 so she would be able to remember a few things, she's in good shape she's off to spain this week with her daughter ...not to bad.
Edit , living.
-
Apologies if off track a little but I too am researching my Brophy connections in Tullamore and as soon as I read this thread the name Mary Mills seemed familiar. When my grandparents married in 1926 one of their witnesses was a Mary Mills along with Joseph Carroll. Is it possible that this is the same Mary Mills we are discussing here. My paternal great grandmother was Elizabeth ( Eliza ) Brophy. Will be following this closely.
Thank you

Let me know if you have any more information! I wonder if we are related? Thanks

Yes,cmred,it's looking very likely that we are and its now a case of joining up the dots with the wonderful help from fellow Rootschatters.
I have no McCormack line any longer in Tullamore as my grandfather John was an only child and the surname is no longer carrying forward.
So it would be nice to know that at least there are still some Brophy links

Hi,we found several posts about the Mills family,Tullamore.I notice that one of Roots members..Skin 1967 could be a great niece of Frances ? We're interested in information about Frances Mills, daughter of Esther and Martin and sister of Joseph who married Elizabeth Devaney .She married John Patrick Flanagan who was a brother of my husbands Grandfather Andrew. We've been told that John abandoned Frances and their five children and went to England. Their names we don't know and this is the only part of our search that has us stumped. My husband has been to Tullamore a couple of times to meet up with family of his Grandmother . Any help greatly appreciated,Sylvia

Welcome to RootsChat
Just a couple of links.
Frances and John's marriage 1917, John is a discharged solider
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1917/09754/5540385.pdf
A son Michael appears to have been born 1918
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1918/01263/1524366.pdf
every thing fits except the father's name was corrected to Michael from John. May have been a mix up due to the sons name.
There is a possible son Christopher born Dec 1919 but image isn't online yet as likely registered 1920. (100 year rule)

Hi Sinann
I am new to all this so have possibly messaged you on the wrong topic. Apologies.
Anyway you put a post on about John and Sarah (Sally) Burnett from goldenvale cottages who died when my gran Margaret Ralph was 17 she was born 05/01/1909 she was their boarder in the 1911 census. You were looking for her parents William Ralph a valet in India at the time and her mother Elizabeth Griffith. My uncle has done a DNA but had no positive matches as yet. Have you managed to find anything further. Thank you.
