Title: Where was Penparc Cottages, Llansantffraed, Bwlch?
Post by: hunkyhywel on Saturday 19 March 16 12:17 GMT (UK)
I have a birthplace for an ancestor down as Penparc Cottages, Llansantffraed, Bwlch.
I know where Bwlch is but can't find Llansantffraed in it. I assume the cottages are gone.

Also, would anyone know which county this was during 1896-1911?
Thanks!!

This looks like the cottages (east side of map) in 1903 between Bwlch and  Llansantffraed to the west on the next map http://maps.nls.uk/view/102349644#zoom=4&lat=4130&lon=2135&layers=BT

Edit - This side by side with a modern aerial photo and  the property appears to still be there http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/sidebyside.cfm#zoom=16&lat=51.8942&lon=-3.2542&layers=171&right=BingHyb

The source is a good one too, how are the maps searched?

Would this be in Breconshire then?

This is a link to the site which is brilliant and free http://maps.nls.uk/     Select the series maps and then you have a choice of maps in Scotland and England/Wales

Have fun!  I think it was Breconshire
