Hi, I need some help please in finding a death notice for Jacob van Reenen van Niekerk died 1944 Johannesburg. Even a death notice or Estate file ref. number will be great.
Thanks

but no death or estate file

Thanks sue. It is like he has disappeared, maybe his death notice got lost.
-
It's possible that he left no estate and so would likely not find it on Naairs. Those ones that we find there are usually with an estate file.
-
Maybe, his occupation is a miner, probably on the goldfields. Could he then have a civil death notice?
I wonder if he died on the mines?
-
He may have, but all the death notices are civil notices, as I said it is possible he may have left no will so the Death Notice would not form part of his estate file which is what we can search for on NAAIRS. There is probably a Death Notice somewhere, but will be hard to find, a trip to the Archive and a physical search through Jan 1944 might unearth one. That, if there is one, would be in the Pretoria archives.

Thanks Sue, that's probably the only thing to do.

Update - I have found a civil death notice for Jacob and also found that he was connected to the wrong parents.
