Title: Looking for grave of George Newman, Horringer, Suffolk, died 1932
Post by: Sophie1980 on Monday 23 May 16 14:45 BST (UK)
Hello. I am trying to find the graves of George and Rebecca (Bessie) Newman of Horringer, Suffolk (they were husband and wife - I don't know if they're buried together or separately).

George Newman died April 23, 1932 and his funeral was at St Leonard's Church, Horringer. I assumed he was buried here but can't find any record online. His wife, Rebecca (Bessie) Newman nee Battrum died 12 October, 1944. I don't know where her funeral was held but the death was in Suffolk, and most presumably Horringer. She was living at Rose Cottage, Horringer, when she died, as did George.

Any help in finding their graves would be much appreciated.

As you have their death dates have you contacted the church.

Hi Rosie

I've contacted a couple of numbers, one for the church and one from the diocesan website, but to no avail. George may of course be buried elsewhere and just have had his funeral at St Leonard's, and they may both have been cremated.

Cremation may not have been an option as the nearest crematorium might have been in Ipswich.

Have you contacted the council?
