Please can someone help me with this family, I have found them on the 1891, 1901 Census and 1911 census
George Watkins born c1860 Clodock
Rebecca Watkins born c1858 Clodock (1901) or Crasswall (1911)
Edith Watkins daughter born 1887 Ewias Harold
Alma F M Watkins daughter born 10 May 1889 Ewias Harold
George Harry Watkins son born 1892 Ewias Harold
I have been told that Rebecca's maiden name was Symonds but I cannot find a marriage, the only likely marriage I can find is for a Rebecca Watkins and a George Watkins in 1885, I wonder if my niece is mistaken.

Edith m Watkins birth seems to be registered in Abergaveny, Monmouthshire, I will look a bit more as the marriage may be registered there as well.

Thank you for you reply, Edith did not get married, she died aged 29 Dec qtr 1916, a baby of the same name died the same year and qtr. The baby Edith M Watkins is probably her daughter as her birth is registered Dec qtr 1916 mother's name Watkins.

Alma was registered in Hereford district, which is the right district for Eywas Harold, so I wonder if they were living over the border when Edith was born.
-
A possible marriage
George Watkins Rebecca Davies Dec qtr 1875 Newport Monmouthsh.

Just putting this "out there", but have you looked at the George Watkins and Rebecca Watkins on the 1881 census, living at Talybont, Llangetty, Breconshire. Both born in Longtown, Herefordshire. They are living with an Alice Floyd who is described as 'sister', bn in Tupsley Green, Hereford
On second thoughts, I don't think this is them. Would definitely suggest getting child's birth cert.

The 1881 census would fit with the 1880 marriage of George Watkins to Rebecca Floyd (Brecknock, 11b, 109)
However, to be sure of Rebecca's surname, I would suggest that you get hold of the birth cert of one of the children. That should confirm Rebecca's maiden name.

Does the 1911 census state how many years they have been married?

Seem a long wait for the first child, or not, given George's occupation ;D ;D
Llagetty is not too far from Abergavenny, where Edith was registered
Mike
Added,his occupation in 1891

Thank you all so very much,
The Ewyas Lacy website is brilliant Mike.
George & Rebecca Watkins had been married 25 years in 1911.
You may well be right that the only way to be sure will be to get a birth certificate.
