Hi,
Could anybody help me with the attached - it is an excerpt of a Scottish marriage entry (the original) showing the details of the father and mother of the groom and the details of the minister that officiated. So far, I think I've got:
Peter Barr [can't get the occupation/rank]
[Unknown] Barr [unknown, assuming "nee"] Pollock
Signed James Mitchell, minister of South Leith
Any help would be much appreciated. I need the first name of the mother (maiden Pollock) to tie up other records I've got. She could be Binny, Barbra or Robina, or maybe all three.

Actually, can I be cheeky and ask for some help with the place of marriage too? Image attached below. I'm fairly certain of the date being 15 July 1887, but the location is too difficult to me (other than "Leith") and whatever is below that.

That sounds right - the whole doc is titled south Leith. I'm getting on to the church now about their records. Thanks for everyone's help. I'll update when sorted, in case it's of any help to others.

Peter Barr married Binny Pollock 16/6/1847 Edinburgh
Can only find them on 2 census - 1861 when they are with some Pollock's and 1881 just Peter and wife, in both of these census she is shown as Robina and in 1861 he's a Carter, and in 1881 a Labourer. Both he and Robina are shown to have been born in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

I know this was a thread for handwriting recognition, and as such I may need to delete this post and move it, but does anyone have any opinion on the consistency, or lack thereof, of the records I've found thus far? There's two little Excel extracts below with what I've got, and I don't want to start going back further on the Pollock line before I can pin this down as best I can.
Again, if I should have posted this elsewhere, apologies, but I thought I ought to continue the conversation here.

Re the two letters before the mother's name, they are MS = Maiden Surname. That's the standard abbreviation used on Scottish certificates at that time.

Peter Barr Iron Moulder died 28/12/1888 at the Poorhouse, Colinton, married to Robina Pollock, informant was son Peter Barr who gave age as 72?? (The census all indicate birth circa 1820). Father shown as James Barr, Iron Moulder (deceased) but mother not given.
1841 Census at Paisley shows:
James Barr 37 Moulder
Janet Barr 36
Peter Barr 17 Drawboy
Alexander Barr 15
Ann Bar 5
Margt. Barr 7 mos.
Peter Barr was actually born 29/5/1822, bp.16/6/1822 Abbey (Paisley), son of James Barr and Jane Reid. The couple married 1/12/1819 Paisley. Jane and Janet can be interchangeable in Scotland but can only find 2 online baptisms to Peter and Jane i.e. Peter 1822 and a Jane b.5/9/1820, bp.16/9/1820. Can't find baptisms for Alexander, Ann or Margaret..Don't think family were too hot with ages as if age in census is correct James would only have been 14/15 when he married.
