Title: Daisy Jardine
Post by: nenepops on Tuesday 28 February 17 20:24 GMT (UK)
Trying to find information on the above person.
She was born 1915 in Dumfriesshire but no idea what area.
Her parents were Joseph and Edith Jardine. They were married in Morningside 1915.
I believe she had a child called Donald but I have nothing else.

Hi ,

Daisy's birth cert.will be available to view on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk  as it is outwith the100 years limit.

It is a pay to view site and very reasonable you may be able to access her death cert, as well this will perhaps give you a lead to her son Donald as to where he lived as informants address is on some certificates.

Scottish certificates give you lots of information and the site I mentioned is very easy to use.

Jessie

Added  there is a Morningside in Lanarkshire and another which is a district of Edinburgh

Can't easily see a birth for Daisy on SP with the details you mentioned. Could she have gone by another name?

Daisy can be a "pet" name for Margaret.

Actually there are only 21 female babies with the surname Jardine born between 1914-1916 in Dumfriesshire. So maybe won't be too hard to find her  ;D

There is one name jumps out - a Marjory Edith Jardine born 1915 at Dryfesdale  - might not be your Daisy , but the middle name of Edith could be after her mother  :-\

You would be able to view the original document for a small charge on Scotlands People website. This would give the parents names and either confirm or eliminate this girl.

Hi Looby  :)

Can't be certain , but surely worth following up.
That 2008 death is the only likely one in Scotland with mother's maiden surname as Jardine.

Oh my gosh that actually does make sense as Edith was from Morningside area so I think that this is a good match.
Thank you so much everyone, brilliant as ever.
