I wonder if anyone with an interest in Shrewsbury local history might know what type of school would have been at 31 St John's Hill in Shrewsbury in the 1880s, please? I have a girl who shows on the 1881 census as a pupil there. From what I can see of the family it seems unlikely that they would have been able to afford to send her to a paying school, and I wondered if it was a special school of some type?
Thanks in advance, for any constructive suggestions!

Thank you for that, Rosie99. I hadn't realised that would be relevant, just wondered if anyone knew the address ;)
Newspaper articles would probably tell me what i'm looking for, I'll go and hunt.
Much appreciated :)
