I am seeking the birth details of Elizabeth Quinn, who married James O’Neill in Ardboe parish, Co Tyrone, on 30 September 1920. Elizabeth stated that she was a minor (under 21), and that her father was Patrick Quinn, a labourer. It is not known exactly when she was born, nor where. Elizabeth died 18 October 1932 aged 29 years.
So far, searches for her birth in Co Tyrone have proved negative.
I wish to know if anyone has information concerning Elizabeth Quinn who was born in Mountnorris on 5 March 1902. Her father was Patrick Quinn, a labourer, and her mother’s maiden name was Mary McParland. Elizabeth was the youngest of eight children, and the family appears in the 1911 census – http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Armagh/Mountnorris/Mountnorris/305501/
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

As well as Elizabeth b.05-Mar-1902 born in Mountnorris
Parents: Patrick Quinn and Mary McPartland, there was also a Lizzie Ann born 1897...she must have been one of the children who died.

Thank you for your reply: I had accessed lots of records for the Quinn family of Mountnorris, but it was only after I had posted here that I discovered the true marriage record of Elizabeth of Mountnorris, daughter of Patrick and Mary; she married in her home district - in the Oratory of Whitecross - on 13 August 1925.
The search for the birth of Elizabeth O'Neill née Quinn, who died 18 October 1932 aged 29 years, continues....

Like you I can't find any sign of Elizabeth in the Clonoe area. She and James O'Neill both give Aughacolum (Aughacolumb) as their address at their marriage. Is this James?http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Tyrone/Killycolpy/Killywoolaghan/861775/
-
Yes, that is James. However none of the O'Neill family - including the descendants of James and Elizabeth - know anything about her origin.

Mary Lizzie Quinn - born 3 November 1898 - has not been completely ruled out, but was thought by older people in the district not to be the person in question.
Elizabeth told the priest she was a minor, and a check in the baptismal register would have shown that Mary Lizzie Quinn was not a minor, but almost 22. The parish priest, Fr James Loughran, invariably (though not always) entered marriage details of both parties above their baptismal entries: in this instance he entered James's, but there is no corresponding entry above the baptism of Mary Lizzie Quinn, born 1898.
There is also the consideration that Patrick Quinn was a farmer, not a labourer, and the Land Valuation Book shows that he still owned his farm in 1929. It appears that this Quinn family sold their farm and moved away from Ardboe in the 1930s.
In the baptismal entries of the four O'Neill children, the mother is always named as Lizzie Quinn, never as Mary Lizzie.
In the 1901 and 1911 census returns for the family of Patrick Quinn, farmer, their daughter's name is entered as Mary Lizzie.
These little pointers do not discount her, but increase the likelihood that the wife of James O'Neill was another person....

Looks like neither Lizzie nor Ellen (or Fr John, obviously) married http://www.discovereverafter.com/uploads/graveyards/sttreasnewbridgercchurch_39/347.JPG

Yes, I actually reached the same destination (Newbridge graveyard) as you, around the same time, but I was following a lead, based on an entry added above Joseph Quinn's baptismal entry - – “Married Margaret Cudden 5 July 1949 in Magherafelt parish”
I found the Cudden families in the 1911 census, in the Newbridge area, then found Margaret's birth - 13 August 1916 in Ballymaguigan (the townland which includes St Trea's church, Newbridge). The information on the headstones is quite definitive.

In regard to the O'Neill headstone in Stewartstown graveyard, the names are those of James and his first wife Elizabeth; his second wife, Margaret Jane née Larmour, born 10 February 1905 in Stewartstown, and their daughter Patricia Elizabeth, born 29 March 1945, married Noel Henry in Birmingham 1966. Attached death certificate of Elizabeth.
