Title: Catholic Conversion Rolls - Where is Mirmount??
Post by: teemac on Sunday 09 April 17 17:31 BST (UK)
I'm researching the Tinney /Tiney / Tinny family in Donegal and came across a Hugh Tinney of Mirmount who is recorded in the Catholic Conversion Rolls for 9 June 1783.

An Edward Tinney of Legland (Dongeal) is also listed for 1781.

Does anyone know where Mirmount is or to what it refers to??

There was always family lore that the original Tinney family were Protestant but converted to Catholicism at some stage and this appears to support that contention.

Any information would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.

Tara
