Title: Christopher Doyle,Gunsmith
Post by: dathai on Wednesday 12 April 17 18:18 BST (UK)
Hi all
I am looking for a marriage of Christopher Doyle to Mary Donnolly prior to 1862.

I have tried S S Michael & John's ,St Michans and St Nicholas.
there are 5 baptisms on Irish Genealogy for their children and from their birth certs
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jwi/
and marriage in 1901 of daughter Elizabeth to Richard Elliott i learned he was a Gunsmith
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1901/10310/5752980.pdf
Elizabeth died 1909
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1909/05453/4525830.pdf
Elizabeth had 3 children of which son Christopher Anthony survived and is with his father and grandparents in Meath 1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Meath/Ratoath/Ratoath/715412/

Christopher Doyles daughter Mary marriage ?(not found)Francis Pacelli about 1891
have everything on the Pacelli's except marriage.

these are the only records i have on the Doyles.

if anyone has anything to add it will be most appreciated.

I assume you have Christopher and Elizabeth in 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Wood_Quay/Chancery_Lane/1341010/

Do you think it's safe to assume their parents were dead by 1901, I don't see a death cert for a gunsmith in the images available so far.

Thank you very much Sinann i had not found the 1901 census because i searched for her as Eliza* Elizabeth and Liz* but i see why now as her name is spelt ElizEbeth never thought of searching by address on it's own.
So Christopher born 1864 also survived not seeing any likely death or marriage for him 1901 to 1911

I had a look for the mother, Mary and no joy there either.
They can't have died to early or the children would have been too young to have stayed together on the same street.
Fingers crossed they are in the next batch released, that or they are still alive and we just haven't found them.
An age from a death cert would be handy.

Also the birth of an older son in 1859 which pushes the marriage date back a bit
Robert William Doyle - 1859

Nice one Hasta now i wonder does that change things a bit as on Christophers birth 1864 at 23 Chancery Lane his mothers name is given as Donlon while the informant is a Catherine Donelon of same address

Heres a possible link to look at - but nothing concrete and jumping ahead a bit.

1864 - 23 Chancery Lane - birth of Rosanna Walsh to Lucas WALSH & Ellen DOYLE.
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jx7/
Christopher DOYLE is a sponsor, so I'm going on the idea that Ellen is his sister

Lucas Walsh & Ellen Doyle marry the following year (1865) and she gives her parents as Robert Doyle and Eliza. Witness is William Donnelly and Mary Doyle of 18 S Earl St (see image)
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jx9/
Then
1865 - 23 Chancery Lane - Marriage of William Donnelly to Anna Doyle of 18 S Earl Street.
Her parents are Robert Doyle & Eliza Valentine.

Then there is this 1832 baptism for a Christopher Doyle with parents Robert Doyle & Eliza

Mary Doyle born 1862 also had William Donnelly and Rosanna Walsh as sponsors

Well Hasta that looks very good to me and i reckon you have it in a nutshell thank you for your hard work.

Strange how things work out
A couple of years ago i had a topic on Gasparro family
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=681352.0
and there was a Catherine Doyle married to Francis Gasparro in 1873 transcribed as Gaspard
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jyx/
this marriage is not available to view yet and not on church records either so dont know where in Dublin it took place
They had a daughter Mary Rose in 1877 born 14 Chancery Lane
https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/528fd70344719

Mary Rose appears to have married Joseph Savino in 1900 her address 27 Chancery Lane
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1900/10346/5766421.pdf
Family lore as told to me years ago was Francis Pacelli and Joseph Savino were cousins Francis Pacelli's mother being Mary Rose Savino.

I cannot find a death on civil index for Francis Gasparro or Glasnevin index

however in 1892 Richard Ryan married Catherine Gasper, 48 Golden Lane, widow daughter of Christopher Doyle a Smith
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1892/10652/5880857.pdf
not obvious to me on 1901 Census

Francis Pacelli's eldest daughter Mary Rose was born 1892 at 48 Golden Lane
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1892/02337/1874455.pdf

so with Catherines first marriage being 1873 minus say 20yrs would push Christophers marriage back to about 1853.

Richard Ryan and Catherine had twins Richard and Christopher born at 48 Golden Lane 1894 sadly both died within 11 days
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1894/02262/1850445.pdf

may have had a son John born 1890 before their marriage at 6 Gt Longford St
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jyy/
though civil cert says father's name John

Mary Pacelli is my Great Grandma. I have very little information regarding this side of the family so it's great to find a link. I have some information about the Pacelli side but very little about the Doyles.
