Title: Thomas Fredrick Jackson b 1849
Post by: Westy11 on Thursday 04 May 17 03:01 BST (UK)
Hoping for some assistance to locate information on Thomas Fredrick Jackson please.

Thomas was a son of Robert Jackson & his second wife Eliza Benn and b 08 Jan 1849 in Roscrea, Co Tipperary. Thomas was mentioned in his father Will of 1874 so we know he was still living at that time.

No further mention has been located of Thomas after this date. Thomas was married in Brooklyn, NY, USA 1878 to Mary Holmes. A related post at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=770881.0

Thomas sister Phoebe immigrated to Australia in 1885 which raises the question did Thomas also immigrate?

I located a Thomas Jackson in the 1900 US census however the month of birth is incorrect.

To date I am unable to locate any records related to exiting Ireland and hoping for some assistance to find out what became of Thomas.

Thomas Frederick JACKSON was still living in 1920

He is on the census returns
1910 at Forty Fourth Street, Brooklyn Ward 29, Kings, New York aged about 60
Year of immigration was 1865
He is with his wife Mary, nieces Jane Jackson and Margaret Acres (?) and sister-in-law Anne Boise (?)

He married on Dec 20 1913 in Saratoga, New York
to Marie FEEHAN aged 48 (F) John FEEHAN (M) Julian RONAN

1920 at East Second Street, Brooklyn Assembly District 21, Kings, New York aged about 71
Year of naturalization 1876? very difficult to read
He is with his wife Marie, niece Jane Jackson and a boarder

There is a death that may be him in 1926 but there are other deaths that could be a match at that time of a Thomas Jackson; this looks the best match with the middle initial F
Thomas F Jackson, aged 77; Death Date: 11 Dec 1926 in Kings, New York, USA
Certificate Number - 24405

1. Marriage on Findmypast.ie as a transcription from United States Marriages

2. Apologies Julian is a typo for Julia!

3. Location given as Kings, Saratoga, New York

Both of Thomas' parents' names are given and as stated here earlier Robert Jackson & Eliza Benn
