Hello
I have reached a brick wall in trying to find information on Thomas Allen, born 1863, in Lubenham.
I have found information from the 1871, 1891, 1901 and 1911 census, plus a death registration, but can not find any information on his parents, or further details on his wife Elizabeth ? (Sometimes Annie E) born Welford, 1866.
I believe in worked on the canals in Foxton.
Many thanks
Karen

Start by looking for a birth registration in 1863ish.
Is there a MMN?
You state you have the census (es).
Where is he and whom is he with?
Is he the one as nephew to jane plant in 1871?
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFT8-KP8
Same for his kids, whats the MMN from the birth indexes?
Use the "new" GRO search.

I see the problem!
I can't see a Birth Registration for Thomas Allen in, or around, 1863.
If he was born in Lubenham, then the Registration District would have been Market Harborough.
There's a birth in Shardlow Registration District, and another in Ashby De La Zouch RD

Hi Karen
Welcome to rootschat :)
I assume this is him in 1871 - RG10/3225 f97 p17
Jane Plant 31 -Head
Maria Plant 7 -dtr
Thomas Allen 8 -Nephew
John Allen 5 - Nephew
Have you tried locating Jane Plant prior to this census or a possible marriage for her :-\

1871 was given by me earlier (familysearch link)
So the ashby registration was baptised at Seal ( see familysearch again)?
Do the two found births mmn match with what appears to be a younger brother from 1871 census?

The birth in Netherseal/Seal can be found on the 1871 census with his mother, Susannah.
So, it's not that one!
Maybe his birth wasn't registered?
It wasn't compulsory enforced until 1874/5.

Going to 1891.
Oldest sprog is 5 or so.

Joseph charles registered 1888 market Harborough, mmn poole
Edith Maria 1890 mmn Poole.
I think this one may be the bride-to-be 1871 census, with Granny
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFTZ-1RW
and 1881 in service. To a BUSWELL family. is the name familiar?

Possible marriage in 1884 Northampton

Thanks for all of that. Am just trying to clarify all the information in my head.
Firstly does mnn = mothers maiden name?
Then birth registrations have been found for two of the children
Joseph charles and Edith Maria with the mother's maiden name as Poole.
Mother becomes Annie Elizabeth Poole, 1866, Welford.
That's great. Just wondered where you found the birth registrations.
Then genealogy gymnastics! Wow - I don't even know where to begin.
The Plant Patrick Allen link up is mad
Out of interest where do you source the Lubenham Baptism records.
I can not thank you enough. HAPPY HAPPY SMILES

Hi I’m Thomas Allen’s great grandson, I cannot find a link to Kibworth so wondered why he was buried there, any thoughts?
