Title: Little bit of good news re 1901 and 1911 Census
Post by: Sinann on Tuesday 20 June 17 20:35 BST (UK)
Just read on Clare Santry's Irish Genealogy News that the National Archives are looking for tenders to do the corrections on the 1901 and 1911 Census.
That will be good when it happens, so be sure to report any you spot.

I've reported lots of mistakes but didn't realise they weren't being corrected yet! A glaring one is Sarvagh for Garvagh town in 1901 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Londonderry/Garvagh/Sarvagh/

Cullyeapple for Cullycapple in 1901- and at least 4 of the surnames there incorrectly transcribed!

Droghea for Droghed-

Knonaduff for Knockaduff-

Allduff for Altduff- McShein for McShane there!

Boghilibay for Boghilboy-

I do hope when they put the corrections on that they put the original details that were corrected there as well.

Not sure if others noticed but some records that are from BALLINASLOE are in under BALLINA...
e.g. LINK (https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1952/04485/4177149.pdf) my ggf is on this page but you have to search for Ballina LINK (https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details-civil/4b82428289104?b=https%3A%2F%2Fcivilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie%2Fchurchrecords%2Fcivil-perform-search.jsp%3Fnamefm%3D%26namel%3Dcurley%26location%3DBallina%26yyfrom%3D%26yyto%3D%26submit%3DSearch%26sort%3D%26pageSize%3D100%26century%3D%26decade%3D%26exact%3D%26ddBfrom%3D%26ddMfrom%3D%26ddDfrom%3D%26ddPfrom%3D%26mmBfrom%3D%26mmMfrom%3D%26mmDfrom%3D%26mmPfrom%3D%26yyBfrom%3D%26yyMfrom%3D%26yyDfrom%3D%26yyPfrom%3D%26ddBto%3D%26ddMto%3D%26ddDto%3D%26ddPto%3D%26mmBto%3D%26mmMto%3D%26mmDto%3D%26mmPto%3D%26yyBto%3D%26yyMto%3D%26yyDto%3D%26yyPto%3D%26locationB%3D%26locationM%3D%26locationD%3D%26locationP%3D%26keywordb%3D%26keywordm%3D%26keywordd%3D%26keywordp%3D%26event%3D%26district%3D)

He's finished, it sounds like it was only the corrections that people submitted as you couldn't submit place name corrections I assume they remain.
