I was sent a picture via email from a relative and I need help identifying the age however I can not make the image any smaller to post. It currently is at 711KB and I believe it has to be smaller that 550KB to post. Any suggestions?

Hi, nsn300z, welcome to Rootschat.
There’s a scanning tutorial at the top of this board - “Cazza’s Scanning Tutorial”. If you scroll to close to the end of the tutorial there’s a section on “Resizing” which may help. Most computers today will have some type of photo manipulation software built in, allowing you to resize the file. If you still have trouble, post again, letting people know, and I’m sure more help will be on offer. (I’ll be away for a couple of days, otherwise I’d offer to PM you my email address and get you to send me the photo for downsizing.)
Cheers, Peter.

Is this sorted now?

I am going to work on the sizing of the picture this weekend and will post if I am still having problems. Thanks!

nsn300z's photos emailed to me. I have resized the large group photo to get under the limit. The second pic is uploaded as it came.

Pic. 1 is Edwardian & probably mid - late decade.
Not the best image to work with but cleaned up a bit.

Andy and Jim,
Thanks for all your help. Edwardian - are you thinking early 1900's to what?

around 1905-10.

Hello again, Pat. I couldn't resist having a go at a tidy up. I've tried to tease out a few extra details without overly compromising the integrity of the original picture - i.e., without making it up! Cheers, Peter.
-
Peter,
Thank you so much for working on the photo. Looks great!

Jim,
Thanks for your reply. So the family photo your dating 1905-1910. The second photo with the two gentleman and horses - what date would you put on that?
