Please could someone confirm what area of Lincolnshire the District No 6091B & Reg No B8D for a death record in Feb 2006? This would help me find what area to look for a burial or cremation.
Many thanks

Have you tried asking the Record Office. Also have you looked for obituaries in the newspapers.

My uncle died in 2005 - Lincoln, possibly North Hykeham - and is 6091B/B5D. Of course, if they died in hospital, it may not be the same district as where they lived.
You might find the name you are looking for in this database https://www.deceasedonline.com/servlet/GSDOSearch
You can search to see if his/her name comes up, then decide if you want to subscribe to learn more.

Have you tried contacting Lincoln city council ? They should be able to help you , either online or phone. There are 7 districts in the area.

If you give them the name, the register district number, the register number and the entry number from the GRO index, they should be able to tell you exactly.
The entry number from the index for this time period is the exact entry.

Thanks for your reply.
I haven't yet tried the Record Office but I now will try tomorrow. I have looked some of newspaper archives but the website I'm using doesn't seem to include 2006 (it only goes as far as 1999).
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Geoff for your reply, it's been a great help :-) I've found her listed on the link to the website you attached and now I know she was cremated rather than buried so that's narrowed down my search area.
Thanks again.

GRO references mean nothing to the local offices as they use entirely different systems to index events.

The GRO reference numbers do not mean anything for historic entries.
However, recent entries (as this topic is) compiled on the GRO/Registration RON computer system where each entry has a unique number rather than a page containing 10 entries, match exactly.
