Looking at the couples children in the 1861 census - the GRO Birth index lists two of them with mother's maiden Thomas - will check the others
Sorry eyes playing up - ignore ::)

They married 24/5/1852 and she is shown as Ann Ralph, widow, father John Thomas, Labourer. A witness was a Mary Ann Thomas.

This is a possible child for them, could be called Henry and a nephew in 1861 census:
Birth
John Henry Byron, mmn Thomas
December quarter 1852 Sculcoates
Ann Ralph born 1810 is easy to find in 1851 with family including a daughter Mary.

Hi
Thank you for the info But I cannot find any marriage to a Ralph, so I don't know how to go about it now. Also when married to Byron in 1852 age was down as 37 this would have made her born 1815

I'd suggest you have a look back at 1841:
Clean Alley, Sculcoates (same address as in 1851)
George Ralph 30 Sawyer J N[ot born in county]
Ann do 25 Y
Joseph do 12 Y
Bessey do 11 Y
Mary Ann do 8 Y
John do 7 Y
Louisa do 2 Y [Birth reg: Louisa Ralph, Sep qtr 1839 Sculcoates, mmn Thomas]
-
Then for George's death you can look at FreeBMD or YorkshireBMD (the latter includes age at death for this period):
George Ralph aged 41 died Sculcoates (Sutton subdistrict), Mar qtr 1850.
He was buried at Sutton on 20 Jan 1850, aged 41, abode 13 Clean Alley, Witham, Hull.

Going back beyond census and BMD records, entering the realms of parish records, you have to be more flexible when looking at spelling of surnames, etc.
Have found the marriage:
George Relfe bachelor, Sawyer married Ann Thomas, spinster, 23/7/1828 Sutton on Hull, Yorkshire - one of the witnesses was John Thomas (can't read the name of the other) (from Yorkshire Marriages on FindMyPast).

If Ann's age on 1841 has been rounded down from 29 to 25, and is correct as 41 in 1851, that 1828 marriage looks good.
Perhaps that age on second marriage was because the groom was quite young?
