I am searching for the family of William and Jane Bell ( nee Palmer ) married in 1785 in Lincolnshire
England
Levley
-
Do you mean parents or children of them, how did you come to this marriage, and which part of Lincolnshire?
Thank-you
-
The marriage was 16 May 1785 at Waddington.
The witnesses were Thomas PALMER and Silvester BELL
(FreeREG)
Very likely the Silvester BELL who married at neighbouring Bracebridge in 1788.
However, I agree with chempat that more info is needed. :)

No, I think not ...
Those are (in all probablity) the children of William BELL and Jane SHACKLETON who married at Timberland in 1789.

A Jane Palmer, daughter of Amos and Ann, was born in Waddington on 9th October 1763 and baptised on 14th November.
Amos Palmer and Ann Ash, both servants, married in Waddington on 9th February 1753.
Other children of Amos and Ann at Waddington:-
Mary - born and baptised on 23 Apr 1754
William - born on 26 Jun 1757 and baptised on 24 Jul
Thomas - born on 30 Oct 1759 and baptised on 16 Nov
Ann - born on 24 May 1765 and baptised on 16 Jun
Elizabeth - born on 07 Aug 1767 and baptised on 30 Aug
Burials at Waddington:-
Amos Palmer, 68, on 09 Jun 1796
Ann Palmer, age 61, on 03 Jun 1792
The only Ann Ash with a date that fits was baptised on 25th April 1731 at Leadenham, 9 miles away, daughter of Thomas and Jane. Possible marriage to Jane Gibson at Barrowby in 1723

Thank you for your help. I am more confused than ever.
I was given information that William Bell and Jane Palmer who married in Waddington had a son Thomas born in Bracebridge 1797.and is my 2x Gt Grandfather.
However I am not sure that the above information is in fact my Bell family and was trying to test it.
I know that my Thomas Bell b.1795 married Lucy Goulding b.1805 in 1824 in Saxilby.
I have not been able to find Parish records of the birth of my Thomas Bell to verify his parents.
Hope this helps,
Levley

There was a Thomas BELL bap in Waddington 10 Oct 1799, son of Thomas and Eleanor

Was your man the widower in Potterhanworth in 1851? (53, born Waddington)
I see the 1851 census at Saxilby says Thomas BELL (husband of Lucy) was born at Bishop Norton.
This seems to move the goalposts a bit! ;)

Great find Trish...I was put off by the fact that in Thomas's second marriage it didn't say he was a widower ::) The witnesses to his first marriage where Thomas Capes and John Dickinson...on his second marriage the witnesses were George and John but both surnames are illegible.

Thanks chempat. I had found all of the Baptisms of Thomas/Lucys Children on FreeREG but coud not find a birth reg for Norris.
Also missed the Myra birth rego, Mother Gouldings Geoff E.
How common would Myra/Mira be as a christian name in that time frame?
I have not come across it very often.
FreeREG has Bishop Norton Baptisms in the right time frame c 1796 but no Thomas.
His Death Reg 1854 has him age 56

Levley,
I am also a descendant of William1756 and Jane1762.
Norris1841 (who ended up in Wellington NZ) was my Great Grandfather, and has colonial descendants in Africa and Australia as well as NZ.
As far as I can tell, the parents of William1756 were Jonathan and Anne (Parker) who married in Westborough in 1755 and lived in Doddington parish.
