Title: Armed forces (ish) service of family
Post by: MacGrigor on Monday 14 August 17 18:23 BST (UK)
Hello,

I know for a fact the following members served in various capacities during WW2 and afterwards, and I wondered what anyone might find:

Thomas H. Salter (b. 1909, New Zealand, Calne Wiltshire), Home Guard in Calne during WW2

John W. McGregor (b. 1902, Hornsey) Civil Defence during WW2

Alexander W. McGregor (b. 1925, Southwark) 'Bevan Boy' in Barnsley during WW2, but had done training

David Lipman (b. 1939, Cambridge) did National Service with the RAF, 1960 - 1962, teleprinter, at Compton Bassett, Cardington, Newmarket

Thanks,

Adam McGregor

Service records after 1920 are held by the MOD; you can apply for a copy.....cost £30.

Home Guard records:
