Hi,

I'm trying to find information on Joseph Woodward (b.1811 - ish), he had a son called Henry Woodward b. 1860, who married Martha Sawyer on 17th April 1876.  He passed away in Mar 1916, with his burial on 29th March 1916 at All Saints Church, Kingston Upon Thames.

Any help with trying to find this string of my family...it is proving a bit of a dead end!

Following on from my first message, I have now found that Joseph Woodward died in Jul 1887 and was buried on 19th Sep 1887 at All Saint Church, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey

I see from the 1891 census, that Henry was born in Berkshire?

But, I am not seeing a Birth Registration in Berkshire?
Do you have any of the family on censuses before the marriage to Martha?

In 1901 census, his birthplace is Kingston, Surrey:

Joseph seems to have been born in Spain?

Now you see my problem!

Conflicting information, I have found it hard to get a birth place for both Henry and Joseph.

Joseph is either (so far anyway) Spain, Hertfordshire or Surrey and Henry is either Walford, Hertfordshire (1871 Census) or Chertsey, Surrey (1881 Census with wife Martha) or Abingdon, Berkshire (1891 Census with wife Martha and family) or Kingston on Thames, Surrey (1901 Census with Mathra and family) - could not find a CoB for him so far. I also have the 1911 Census, with Lydia, which would seem to be his second wife again based in Kingston on Thames, Surrey.

Bit of a problem there ::)

Trouble is Henry may have not been born as a Woodward as his Father is a Hawker in 1871 Census it may have been a informal relationship with Henrys Mother.

Baptised 13 Jan 1810, Bushey, Hertford
Father:   James Woodward
Mother:   Jane Woodward

1861 this Joseph appears to be in Surrey with Wife Elizabeth. She is older than him and they have no Children.
