Hi all,
I'm almost embarrassed to post about his chap as I have so little on him.
All I know is that he was born in Brisbane 11 December 1922, father was also John. While in the RAAF he was seconded to No. 514 RAF Squadron and flew a full tour of operations over Europe. His crew knew him as "Jack"
I am attempting to determine a date of death for him. He makes no appearance in Trove and his RAAF service file has not been digitized by the NAA. As their fees have gone up from $19.00 AUD to $69.00 AUD, it's a bit out of my means.
Grateful for any guidance that can be offered.
Kind regards,
DTD

Hi DTD,
514 Squadron RAF does have a web site that might be a way of finding some information.
http://www.514squadron.co.uk/
Also, there is a 514 Squadron RAF Facebook page that might be helpful as well if you use Facebook.

Hi Gerry,
I have all his operations with No. 514 Sqn. He didn't seem to keep in touch with any of his crew post-war.
Kind regards,
DTD

Many thanks for this, Matthew and for spotting my error. Now corrected.
Looks like the only way forward is to pony up the $$ for his service file.
Kind regards,

DTD,
DVA have a VETAFFAIRS Newspaper that is posted out to thousands of Veterans, it maybe worthwhile placing a notice on the Newspaper's Notice Board seeking information.
