Thank you for the wonderful work being done on this. I am looking for John Hand born 1906 who sailed to Cananda on "Scythai" in June 1920 to Toronto. How would I find what happened to him after his arrival at the "Receiving and Clearing" house owned by Dr Barnardos Homes?

Apologies - wrong name for the ship. It was the "Scotian", arrived end of May/early June 1920.

Hi Jazgran,
I've split your query from the general topic for better visibility.
How about adding a record for him to the database ?
And as you find out more, you can edit in the new details.
Good luck,
Bob

Hi Jazgran,
The link is for the inspection card for John Hand that looks likely to be yours.

It doesn't have a lot of info, but if you can't find John in the 1921 census, try searching for his employer's name. ;)

1921 - On A...y. Trewin mistranscribed as Tronson and John's last name is transcribed as Hard, rather than Hand. In Darlington Township.

Looked for Silas Trewin's obituary... is in the Globe and Mail newspaper. No mention of any family members at all. However, says that funeral is from his later residence...lot 15, concession 8. Says he lived in Darlington.
