I am researching my husband's family history and have quite a lot of information about Charlotte Blake (nee Moxley) who lived between 1799 and 1836. Her parents were George and Elizabeth Moxley (nee Parry) and she had various siblings including James (1801-1869) Jeremiah (born 1804) and John born 1796. I have now found details of the murder of Mary Moxley in 1842 in Penterry and I am trying to find out what relation she would have been to Charlotte.

Thanks Rosie. I am wondering if Charlotte and Mary were cousins. John and George may have been brothers. Porthcasseg and Penterry are very close to each other so it is likely that they were related in some way.

He gives his place of birth as Hamlet of Porthcasseg in 1851 - his age was 75. ;D

Thank you for that information. If his parents lived in Porthcasseg then there is a good chance they were related to the family I am researching. I will keep looking.

did you notice the baptisms for Jon & George both sons of Henry & Mary in St Arvans, the parish including Porthcasseg.

Thank you. I had missed that! Looks like Mary Moxley and Charlotte Blake were cousins as I originally thought. Thanks so much each of you for all your help. Off to update the family tree.
