Title: Francis HARKNESS born 1811 GRETNA

Wondered if someone could verify my tree please
I have Francis Harkness born 1811 in Gretna and died 1891 in Middlebie. On his death certificate it states his parents as John Harkness...farmer...and Janet Clarke. Francis was a tailor and lived in Middlebie. The only Francis I can find in 1841 census is with a George and Agnes Harkness in Langholm Dumfriesshire.....George also a tailor
I can't find anything on Francis parents....no marriage certificate for Francis...he married Janet Adamson.
Do I have the correct grandparents for Francis or am I jumping to conclusions
Any help would be gratefully received

PS someone else has a Francis Harkness but with different parents and also a tailor

Hi ,

Familysearch has a Francis Harkness baptised 23rd March 1812 Graitney Dumfries , parents John Harkness and Jenny Clarke.

Thanks Ev.....already have that certificate.....trying to find if I have the correct grandparents and also can't find any marriage certificates for Francis or John
