Can anyone assist me with some information on John Marriott of Campbells Creek Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. John was the son of Thomas Marriott and Sarah Garner who married on December 6, 1829 in the St. Mary the Virgin church in Eccles, Lancashire. John was born in Eccles around 1832. I would love to know any details on John's siblings and when John travelled to Australia.
He married Jane Stow in Campbells Creek, Victoria on May 21, 1857. I don't know when the Stows travelled to Australia.
John died on 25 March, 1891 and Jane died on August 2, 1897 both share a grave in the Campbells Creek cemetery with two of their children who died early. I know the names of the children. John was a leading orchardist in the Loddon region and survived a major flood in Campbells Creek and the wreck of the 'Cheviot' ship. An exciting life!

Mary 3 Oct 1830

Modified to add:
and
Alfred - Sep qtr 1840 Salford (20/726)

Based on Jane MARRIOTT's age at death in 1897 (age 73) with parents names John STOW and Jane (BANNISTER), do you think this is the family John Stow and Jane baptising these children in Margate, Kent?
Margaret Bannister STOW bap 14 Dec 1823
Jane STOW bap 15 Jan 1826
Charles STOW bap 16 Mar 1828
Eliza Mary Bolton STOWE bap 8 Dec 1833

In 1861, mother Jane and Ann Elizabeth are at Myddleton St, Clerkenwell London:

Ann Elizabeth Stow 24 Margate, Kent
RG09/198 / 46
But difficult to find in the other censuses. ???

I think this is Jane STOW's family in 1841 at Cranbourne Alley, Margate (transcribed as STONE) though Jane is not with them.

Jane Stone 40 (Not born in County)
Margaret Stone 17 Kent
Joseph Stone 10 Kent
Eliza Stone 7 Kent
Ann Stone 4 Kent

and I suspect this is parents John and Jane STOW in 1851 at St Peters St Islington (though Jane's age is incorrectly transcribed as 33 instead of 53.

Jane Stow 33 Liverpool, Lancashire

I have had a look through some cemetery resources. Still looking.
Apart from the burial you mention in your original post, I do not see MI's for others of the names you have inquired about.
There is a photo of the MARRIOTT headstone.
No doubt Stephen Collicott will let us know whether the searching so far has been of interest.
He has been online a couple of times I think, so we will wait and see ;D

Thank you for all the suggestions and leads that so many people have given to me. I'm processing all the material and will use it to prepare the third Addenda to my family history, 'The Collicoats of Castlemaine', a copy of the three reports may be read in the Castlemaine Historical Society to whom I've donated a copy. The reports on the wreck of the 'Cheviot' that John and Jane Marriott survived makes for a really interesting read. Half the crew and passengers were lost and John and Jane were rescued clinging on to a line fired out from a cannon as the seas were too rough to launch a rescue boat. Cheviot Bay was later famous as the place Prime Minister, Harold Holt drowned. There is even a newspaper piece written by John on his experiences. While he gives the impression in his article that he and his wife who were God fearing souls fairly calmly dealt with the situation, he suffered from a weakened heart and the accident was suggested by one writer to have probably contributed to his relatively early death at 59. I hope that you find this of interest.
