Title: Lost location: 'Ardhoy'
Post by: Yegvard on Sunday 10 September 17 11:41 BST (UK)
Hi Folks,

I'm doing some research for a family member.  Please can anyone identify the place Ardhoy.  Martin DIAMOND was in receipt of a Chelsea Pension in Glasgow.  Later his widow Isabella moves to Manchester, England.  I'm currently assuming, with no evidence, that Martin died in Glasgow, between 1851 and 1861.

His discharge papers say he was born in the parish of Ardhoy near the town of Magherafelt in county Derry.

The pension records show that his pension was paid in Glasgow in the early 1840's, then Charlemont in 1849, Glasgow in 1850,  Charlemont again in 1851, and that he died on 23 September 1851.
