Hi there. I am completely new to this forum so apolgies if my request is not appropriate.
I am looking for someone to massively help me out with a family tree photo request. Pretty please!!
I am based in NE Scotland but am looking for ancestors buried in the Nottingham General Cemetery.
I have grave references and location maps for 2 graves and would be so grateful if someone could take a pic of them for me. I will upload maps and details from deceased online in a separate reply.
The first is grave ref 20645. First Name on grave should be Humphreys.
The second is grave ref 3214. First Name on grave should be Hunt.
Thank you so so much in advance for your help and assistance with my quest for photos.

No Rosie I haven't. Should I try that first? I have maps of the locations and grave reference numbers. Will Nottingham general cemetery be able to confirm whether a stone exists at each location?

The council appear to just send you to deceasedonline which I have already been to. Thats where I got the grave references and location maps from

Hi,
I go into Nottingham Archives most weeks and can have a look at the grave records for you to see who else is in the grave's and sometimes on the internment number index it say's if there was a stone
Also i'm hoping to get the Nottingham family history M.I disc this week which I think have the General Cemetery on.

Hi there Nottsgirl. Many thanks. I know who is in each lair and have maps of the locations I just don't know if there are headstones so it would be great if you can find out. The MI CD sounds fab. I did investigate that but it's Microsoft only and I'm on Apple. If you get that and could check for me that would be excellent. I can give you the names of who is in each lair. I'll check and get back to you. Thanks again

Hi Using the Billion Graves website there are several images for both names, try this link to see if any of the Humphreys are your, then search again for Hunt, there 15 shown.

Although Nottingham council's website directs you to Deceased Online to search for records, the cemetery dept can still be contacted directly, details here

They should be able to tell you from their records whether headstones exist on the plots.
And you aren't 'having problems' uploading images, images can't be uploaded to any of the county look-up request boards, primarily to prevent breaches of copyright. Small portions only can be posted on the other boards for deciphering or clarification purposes.

Just a quick note to let you know I now have the M.I's disc and had a quick look, no stone for grave 20645 and there is one for grave 3214 will get back to you later with details as don't have time just now but no photo's.

Stone M.I for grave 3214 Section 24 Sub Section 0:
in order of Inscription on stone
Hunt Robert died 12 May 1878 aged 73yrs
Hunt Mary died 4 April 1881 aged 76yrs his wife
Button Henry died 8 Apr 1878 aged 65 yrs
Goulder Emma died 16 Aug 1909 aged 67yrs daughter of Robert and Mary Hunt
Handley Charlotte died 16 Mar 1913 aged 77yrs
That's all that has been transcribe from the stone on Harriet Taylor.
My disc also covers Church (Rock) Cemetery and 68 church yards.

Well Henry Button was the first husband of Emma Hunt married 6 Aug 1867 at St Matthew's Church Nottingham
Then Emma Button nee Hunt married Henry Goulder March Qtr 1885 cannot find a church so maybe a Register Office marriage. update this marriage was at the Nottingham Register Office just checked on another site

Wow how on earth did you find all that out and so quickly? You are wonder woman!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am not at all familiar with the English records system. Much more used to looking up records in Scotland!! 😊

That's OK I'm always happy to help of I can.
It was easy just looked for a marriage of Henry Button to an Hunt on my marriage index disc and found it to Emma Hunt then as their was an Emma Goulder on the MI's guested it was the same Emma but couldn't find a marriage for a Button to a Goulder on my disc so look on Freebmd and found the marriage there for Emma Button to Henry Goulder then looked on the marriage locator site where it can tell you which Church or Register Office but not all marriage's show up but always worth a try and it only go's upto 1911.
