I am trying find the record of birth for my Grandfather David Cledwyn Matthews in Glamorgan & probably in Swansea.
I have a copy of his marriage certificate dated 1st June 1907 at which time he was recorded as being 23 which would make his year of birth 1884.
I have looked online with findmypast and attempted to order a birth certificate from the General Records Office but to no avail.
Is there anyone who can help a very new family researcher crack this problem.
I should be most grateful

Welcome to Rootschat. :)
Have you found David on a census record to confirm his birth place? Who did he marry in 1907?

Welcome from me also. :)
If you have his marriage certificate who does it say is his father, and who were the witnesses, every bit of info helps.
