An ancestor's birth in 1900 is recorded as having been at 14 Erskine Road, Poulton cum Seacombe. Although Erskine Road still exists today and is off Poulton Road it doesn't appear to show up as a separate street in 1900, 1901. although Poulton Road does and other local streets. Does anyone know if houses in Erskine Road were new in 1900 and therefore not yet showing in the street directory?

This 1899 map shows some houses on Erskine Road https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/331054/391186/12/100492 it looks like it was in the course of construction.
See the difference on the 1911 map https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/331054/391186/12/101234

There does seem to be an Erskine Road Poulton Cum Seacombe on the 1901 census but frustratingly no 14 has no occupants :(

To stanmapstone, thanks for that. I can see how much development there was between those dates. To cathy151, thanks as well. My ancestor who was born at Erskine Road and his family have so far stayed hidden as far as the 1901 census is concerned but they reappear in Liverpool on the 1911 one.
