Would anyone be kind enough to look up for me the marriage of Thomas Wheeler & Alice Quickenden who were married on the 17th Dec 1912 at St Michael's Church, Sydenham Kent.
Alice used the name of Alice Gertrude when married but her actual name is just Alice. I have all the info that I need re Alice {birth etc] but what I am looking for is any details that are found in the Marriage entry on Thomas . A transcript of the entry would be much appreciated.
I have the Army details of Thomas as well but they reveal very little about him.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Was MMN of Alice = Bailey?
or is that what you are trying to ascertain?

Alice's maiden name is Quickenden. Registered as Alice Quickenden but always used the middle name of Gertrude [Alice G or Alice Gertrude]. I am trying to locate the Parish Church marriage entry as I have the reference for her marriage. This will give details of Thomas' age, residence and Father's name as well.

I have contacted Lewisham archives and they have the register but not on open shelf. It has to be ordered and you have to book an appointment to see it but since I do not live near, I was hoping that if someone was going to, or lives near the record office, they would be kind enought to look it up for me.

Maybe it would be easier all round if you ordered the certificate from the GRO :-\

Gave birth to a child " Bailey ( 1903-ish ) "
Then married " Quickenden ( 1906-ish ) "
Gave birth to " Quickenden ( 1910-ish ) "
Then married again as " Quickenden " . . . . .
What exact details do you have?

Thanks for the info. I think that in the end, I'll just get the marriage cert and find out his Father's name as it's cheaper than going to Lewisham to look a the reord.

Did his Army records give an occupation for Thomas?
Just to bear in mind there's this Thomas Alfred Wheeler on the 1901 census but unfortunately
does not give an occupation for Thomas Jnr. ??? - you could look to see if there's a match on 1911 census

His army record (Royal Fusiliers, Labour Corps) says he was a Carman, and that he was born Marylebone
So he could be the Thomas Wheeler in Sydenham on the free index to 1911
Could he have lost a few years, age wise? On one page of his army record, it says born in the year 1884, with 1881 crossed through.
In 1901, in Battersea, there's a Thomas A Wheeler, 19, Milkman, born Marylebone. Cousin to Kate Godfrey.
Which may put that chap in Camberwell in 1891, with Kate's parents John and Elizabeth Stanyon (Elizabeth nee Wheeler) - Thomas A Wheeler, Boarder, 9, born Holloway.
Whether he might be the Thomas who married Alice Quickenden is impossible to say.
Alan certainly needs that marriage certificate!
I can't find him on the free index to the 39 Register, he may have just moved from Porthcawe Road?

Many thanks for the help and replies. I will be in London over the Christmas & New Year so I have decided to make a visit to Lewisham to see the Parish Register entry which will solve the problem of who his Father is.
One of the trees on Ancestry may be correct regarding the parentage of Thomas, there again [and it has been known] neither may be correct, My visit will solve the problem [at least for me]
