I've had a read of their "ABOUT US" page. It does explain it's coverage of records.
However, I can't discover whether it's record set is unique or whether the same records are to view on Findmypast and Ancestry. I will need to buy a subscription for Roots.ie but already have subscriptions for FTP and Ancestry.

Mostly pre-official registration records - so parish baptisms, marriages and possibly deaths. I can't say with 100% certainty but I think it will be RC records and at this stage I don't even know the county or parish.
Baptism around 1830/1831 and marriage approximately 20 years earlier.
I've searched the Irish catholic records on FindMyPast pretty extensively but really want to know whether Roots.ie has additional data sets.
I'm looking for a particular man who died in England in 1871, whose father was called James, who had twin daughters baptised RC in Westminster, and whose widow and twin daughters lived in an area in Westminster with a very large Irish population. Both daughters married men born in England of Irish parentage.

Not all parishes will have surviving registers from the 1830s.
Ancestry and Find My Past I think have transcripts of the NLI microfilms, if you looks at the NLI help page you will see they don't have microfilm for 56 parishes. At least some of those parishes are on RootsIreland.
RootsIreland also have more recent records that NLI registers.

It is difficult when you have so little information and it is so early.
I have just checked Roots Ireland site re my family parish and it is now included. At one time it wasn't. However, what is shown is available on other sites and does not begin until 1850s.
I am sure you have done this already but sometimes it is useful to check witnesses, Godparents, neighbours etc.

I have a tentative clue that some of the godparents may have come from County Limerick and or perhaps County Tipperary so it seems the best place to start.

Than before you spent any money it would be worth doing a compare between RootsIreland and NLI to see if there is any difference in early records for those two counties.
For example St. Mary's Limerick city, start dates are the same on both

I have found it useful to do a search on FindMyPast them look at the areas that come up, do they match with what you already know or think you know where they come from. Don't forget to search for spelling variants too! I have found some pretty mangled names in the transcripts recently.
Do you have the person's marriage yet? Is the person you are looking for called James or is that his father, taken from his marriage cert.
Also don't forget many families in Ireland followed naming patterns around that time, so look for the same names as his daughters, that could lead to siblings.

Mmm.... ??? I rechecked the possible godparents. I'm now unsure whether I've got the correct people. I started with one Dennis Leary and his wife Mary in London both from claiming to come from Limerick. I now have two more candidates, a brother and sister, (also Dennis and Mary) also on the London census whom I think may have come from county Cork ::)
