Trying this again after some years and working back from death rather than birth. Joseph died 12 August 1849 aged 60 in Burns Place Marylebone of Cholera, his then wife Hannah was present & the informant. Seemingly they married at Paddington 28/6/1846 she being Hannah Constable a widow and previously Wheeler. A Hannah Coster dies in Marylebone workhouse of paralysis 10/8/1864.
So back to Joseph, 1841 sees him at Providence Place Marylebone with wife Sarah Piercey who dies in September 1841, and children Elizabeth 1818, Eliza 1826, Thomas 1828, Mary Anne 1830, George 1834, Martha 1838 all born Marylebone. Has anyone links back from any of these? I have possible parents for Joseph being Joseph & Mary with a birthplace of City of London (1841 shows him not born in Middx) but this is pretty much a guestimate based on being roughly the right age and place. A number of Coster descendants lived in Providence Place up to the 1880s. Does anyone recognise any links to a Joseph b abt 1790 m Sarah amongst their Rickmansworth Costers? Thanks Pete
