Hello
Can anybody help me to expand my family tree 1 more generation please
My 4th Great Grandmother was Philippina Coventry (born about 1813 - according to 1841 census)
I believe she was born in the Ramsbury area
She married Luke Eatwell in 1830 - Ramsbury
I am looking for ideally a baptism date and ideally a parents name.
I have found on a baptism in Ramsbury 1811 for a Mary Coventry (illegitimate daughter of Hannah Coventry) - maybe this could be an older sister of Philippina
Any help with my search would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
Colin

Via GRO - Phillippine Eatwell was aged 42 when she died in 1848.

Thank you.
I have found a death and burial record for Phillipina Eatwell (nee Coventry) on line.
I am hoping to trace back to a parent, or place of birth.

The originals PRs for Wilts. are available on-line on Anc...y, if you have a subscription.
I had a look during the years 1808-1816 and only saw one "Coventry" namely the Mary you mentioned. I also looked at the marriage entry but unfortunately only says "of this parish" - Ramsbury.
Do you have any other suggestions as to where she may have been born/bapt?

Thomas Coventry married Phillipina Pain 26 Apr 1827 Ramsbury
Thomas Coventry buried 4 Jan 1829 Ramsbury
The marriage index doesn't state whether Phillipina Coventry was a widow , but it's possible. Unfortunately I can't see a baptism for Phillipina Pain either !

Hi,
I think the entry Christine53 found is the one. The original register for Thomas Coventry's burial indicates he was only 32 years of age.
When "Phillipina Pain" married Thomas in 1827 neither signed the register, only made their marks, as
did Jane Pain a witness, the other being James Johnson.

Thank you all so much
it would appear then that
Phillipina was born Pain
She married Thomas Coventry - he died not long after the marriage
She then married Luke Eatwell - this marriage is where my lineage stems
a new branch to my tree..
thank you all again
Colin
