Title: Alex Grigor, teacher at Edinburgh School of Arts 1850
Post by: BronwenS on Sunday 05 November 17 09:58 GMT (UK)
I have in my possession 2 volumes, printed in 1842 of 'Wilson's voyage around Scotland'.  These were presented by Leonard Horner? to Alex Grigor for the Chemistry class and it has Alex as a teacher.  I expect they came into my father's possession via the large secondhand book shop they owned in christchurch for 35 years.  IF any relative of Alex Grigor is out there and they would like them, please let me know and I well send them to you.
Best wishes Bronwen Summers, ChCh. NZ

Alexander Grigor died 1908 and you can find his obituary at Paperspast.natlib.govt.nz with details of his family at that time,  three sons and three daughters.  Interred in Balclutha cemetery.

Hi Bronwen
Would love to know if you still have the book, or what did you do with it? Alexander Grigor was a direct descendent who studied chemistry at Edinburgh so probably a match!
