Hi, I cant seem to find my 4xgreat grandfather Samuel Crighton in the 1851 census. Here's what I know about him...
Born 1825 Liverpool, Bricklayer by trade.
1841 Census Living at Duke Street Manchester with mother and father (Martha and Alexander Creighton) its possible these are actually his grandparents. Possibility his parents are Samuel and Betsey Crighton.
1846 marries Ann Holland Price in Liverpool (father is given as Samuel Crighton).
Has 7 kids between 1846-1860. Elizabeth, frederick,Edwin,Alex,Henrietta,Samuel,Emily.
1861 living on Peel Street, Dukinfield. Wife Mary Ann and 8 kids.
1871 Charles street Ashton Under Lyne. Wife Mary Ann and 6 kids.
Hopefully thats enough to go on....
Thanks

Wow, that was fast. Thank you very much, I'm always a little embarrassed by how quickly people find thses things.
Thanks very much

I just checked on Edwin living in Dukinfield parish in 1851 on FindMyPast as he was born in 1850 and his younger brother was also born there post 1851
Sometimes we get lucky ;D

Kay just beat me! Sometimes it is better to look for children rather than parents.
